About Us

We are a group of caring and experienced educators with specializations in Speech, Language, Literacy and Special Education Services.  Our Lemon Tree team includes therapists and educators providing services in both the private and school based setting.

Megan is an intervention specialist with over seventeen years of experience in providing developmental and therapeutic intervention to children with special needs. After completing her Bachelor Degree in Science of Education and Allied Professions, at University of Dayton, with a major in Developmental Handicaps, she also began specializing in more intense and structured teaching programs and methods such as ABA. In 2008, Megan graduated with her Masters Degree in Special Education from Xavier University, with a focus on PDD/Autism Spectrum Disorders. She now holds a dual degree and licensure in Elementary Education and Education of the Handicap/Intervention Specialist. In 2011, Megan began a specialized program in a parochial school setting that provides developmental and therapeutic interventions for students within the Autism Spectrum. Megan has extensive experience with special education services including development of 504 plans, individualized education plans, goals and objectives, and interventions as well as helping families navigate and find appropriate school settings that will best fit their child’s needs.

 

Megan currently resides in Centerville with her husband, Alex, and their two children.

Jeannine is an educator and speech and language pathologist. She is certified in the state of Ohio as well as nationally, holding her certificate of clinical competency (CCC's) from the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA).  In 2004, Jeannine earned a Master of Arts in Teaching English as a Second Language and French education from New York University. She then went on to earn a Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology from The Ohio State University. Jeannine completed 30 hours of professional training in the Orton-Gillingham multi-sensory method of literacy instruction to improve reading and writing skills for students struggling with literacy skills.

 

Jeannine has extensive experience working with students of all ages- from preschool through high school- to help improve articulation, speech and language, social communication, and reading and writing skills. Most recently, she has worked with students in various elementary schools in the Dayton area as well as with adults in the home care setting. She is fluent in French and Spanish. She believes that learning is a lifelong endeavor and is passionate about helping others realize their full potential.

Ashley Hackett
M.S., CCC-SLP

Ashley is a speech language pathologist who received her bachelor and masters degrees in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Pennsylvania State University in State College, Pennsylvania. After receiving her degrees, she worked in both private and public schools to provide individual, small group and classroom based therapy for students with a variety of speech and language disorders and other special needs.  Ashley is a PROMPT trained therapist (Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets) and is passionate about improving her clients intelligibility and expressive language skills.  

In 2015, Ashley and her family moved to the Dayton area. She currently resides in Oakwood with her sons Griffin and Fitzgerald, daughter Madelyn, and husband Jeff.  As a mother of a toddler who has gone through the intervention process, Ashley offers a unique perspective and understands the challenges parents face in finding appropriate services to help their child succeed.  

 

After going through the early intervention process with her son, Griffin, Ashley decided to join forces with Jeannine and Megan to provide services and resources to parents who are seeking speech language services or require help navigating educational services.

Laura is a speech language pathologist who is licensed in the state of Ohio and holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC’s) from the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA).  She received her bachelor’s degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology from West Virginia University and her master’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Pittsburgh.

 

Traveling around the country as an Air Force spouse, Laura worked in a variety of settings specializing in augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) and children with motor speech disorders and language delays.  She completed extensive training in a variety of augmentative communication programs for children and adults with complex communication needs as well as intensive courses in the principles of sensory integration.   After completing her PROMPT (Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets) Certification in 2018, Laura was invited to become an Instructor for the PROMPT Institute.  She also serves as a mentor for those speech therapists interested in becoming PROMPT Certified clinicians.  

Laura enjoys exploring the Dayton area with her husband and two sons.
