Week 2 Recap and Preparing for Week 3
Week 2 seemed to fly by with my mom here. Jeannine and I spent a lot of time on professional development (PD) trying to figure out some teletherapy options for our private therapy clients. I was amazed by the companies who were providing free PD for SLPs to learn about this important topic. If you are an SLP and are reading this and want to learn about teletherapy check out: www.bethebrightest.com and www.speechtherapyPD.com We continued to follow our “Mommy School” schedu

What my Kids are Getting for Easter
To keep my brain busy lately I’ve been writing about my days at home and sharing that information with all of you. Although our days aren’t filled with just speech and language activities I hope you are finding the information helpful. I also hope they show that activities do not have to be crazy complicated or elaborate for kids to enjoy them and want to do them again and again. So next, I wanted to share what my kiddos are getting for Easter. The first item is a Butterfly

Day 4 - Grammy visits!
Today was a good day. My mom was able to come visit and join our quarantine! The kids were super excited that Grammy was coming as we haven't seen her since Christmas. We followed our new morning "routine" and started off with weather journaling and reading activities. Maddie was upset that she didn't have her own weather journal so I hopped on Teachers Pay Teachers and found a free weather poster that I could laminate and use each day with her. I checked my email during t

Days 2 and 3…
We made it! Everyone still surviving? Day 2 didn’t go too badly here. My daughter, Maddie got a little more sassy on Tuesday, but I can’t say I wasn’t anticipating that! Our morning started with some fun Leprechaun shenanigans and dressing in our green clothes. And of course dealing with the disappointment of not catching our leprechaun, Lucky! [Side note: A lot of family members have been asking how the kids are doing with all of this and to be honest I don’t think they r

“Mommy School” Day 1
Whew! I made it through day 1! How did everyone do today? I wanted to recap today’s routine. I’m patting myself on the back because it actually went okay but I’m also thinking “How long can this honeymoon last?!” The day started with reviewing the weather journal that Griffin’s school sent home along with the “Days of the Week” and “Months of the Year” songs. I was able to look both up quickly on Youtube so if you aren’t familiar, they are just a few clicks away! Then we

COVID-19 Quarantine – How I’m Staying Sane! (Or at least trying to!)
As so many of us face several weeks of house arrest, I wanted to share some resources and activities that I’m doing at home with my own kiddos. I’m sure you’ve seen that beautiful, color coded schedule floating around Facebook. It provides a great foundation from which you can create your OWN schedule that works for your child. I’m realizing that my kiddos, who are 3.5 and 5.5, are probably only going to make it through “mommy school” for the morning hours. And let’s be re
